Autumn

Not something I do a lot of, landscape work and we probably don't always look at our local town as a source of inspiration. This is by the side of a busy road out of Wellingborough, next to my son's school. to the left are the playing fields and on the right, the main road which is next to a large industrial estate. It's something I've wanted to photograph for a while. I even took some filters out and used an 85 warm up and ND grad. All a bit different from sports stuff. Just had to clone one man out in a bright yellow jacket.
All comments and criticism welcome.

Thanks for the comments. Silkstone, I think there is a shot of just that in our local museum, also they are awaiting a shot from the MOD of tanks being camoflaged and stored under the trees before D-Day. Not alot left of beauty in our town, but this is lovely, along with the graveyard just above.

Lovely colours in this - and that carpet of gold looks great! Nicely comp'd and PS'd!

p.s. can't see a single rusty tank, so they did a good job!

Nice shot, like the comp, another one I'd try is slightly to the side, say the right hand side, and having the trees going down one edge of the frame more than coming into the middle, but this is fine as is

Thanks for the comments. getting to the side is a problem Jack as either side of the avenue is very uninspiring, you can see the industial estate and road, which I was trying to avoid, and the bus shelter and the speed camera and the rusty benches! Bit of a challenge.

Funnily enough, I've been eyeing a very similar scene locally, and as I drove past it the other day, I got to thinking that this is the perfect time of year to shoot it, as the gentle light of autumn is just right for retaining detail in the trees without blowing any bits of sky that show thru' the leaves (i.e. high contrast). Luckily, you didn't have that problem with this scene.
