Re: Autumn leaf
Good charcoal b+w, like um', colors work good. You could have cropped this a number of ways, but seeing you liked it, that is what counts in the end.

Re: Autumn leaf
Yup, that second one is excellent and more natural looking than the first. I really like it, nice one!

Re: Autumn leaf
Thanks. I'm thinking about getting that second one printed. I know it's not the best photo I've taken, but something about the culmination of all the elements in it makes me really like it, especially the dew drops and the stunning leaf colour (which is COMPLETELY unchanged from in camera, and it did a good job, it looked like that in real life too
)

Re: Autumn leaf
Personally I really like the second one. First one does feel a bit artifical.
Colour of the leaf is really striking |

Re: Autumn leaf
Well, it can't be quite completely unchanged Jack as it is different in the 2nd version to the first version! I like the 2nd one much more as it has a bit of bite to it, shows the colours very nicely. I am sure you'll get a print to be proud of

Re: Autumn leaf
Think it's looking different because it's brightened/lightened.
Colour looks the same on my screen. |

Re: Autumn leaf
That's what I thought...seeing as it's the exact same layer, and I only fiddled with the other one....
EDIT: actually there might be the minutest of differences cos it's a different shot, with more space at the bottom, but still, the colour is as was.......(now that is an ending to a sentence!) |

Re: Autumn leaf
# 2 for me too
I also thought it was a different shot due to the leaf with the highlight on it halfway along the bottom edge to the RHS from the coloured leaf is higher in the frame, the light thing above this leaf just below the grass line is in a different place, the ends of the grass in the FG are in focus and the light patches on the LHS of the frame are more pronounced than the original. I'd clone these out before you get the print done, and try cropping the RHS to decenter the leaf.
