Balloons over Barlick
![]() ![]() ![]() These were taken in Barnoldswick, Lancashire earlier this year. I really wanted to get some shots of hot air balloons this year and this was the outcome. It's something I'd like to have another go at next year cause I think there's a lot of room for improvement. However, I'm quite happy with these as a first try. |

Re: Balloons over Barlick
Good set of shots, kinda tell the story from ground to air. My favourite is maybe number two, but can't decide between that and number one.
Couple of things that i reckon would improve them.... Shot 1, crop just a fraction off the left, just enough to take the guys face out and the little corner of sky that has crept into frame, it is only a fraction........Shot 2, i personally would crop the top of the image so as the balloon is the same distance from the edge of frame as it is on the right. Just some personal preferences, but they are good shots all the same! |

Re: Balloons over Barlick
A good set of shots.
If you wish to attempt another ballon shoot then there use to be a nig ballon festival held over a weekend down at LLangollen in Wales. I photographed there two years on the trot and as well as all the usual ballon shots you will have the oppotunity to photograph them in the early morning light, at dusk/sunset and also in the dark as they do a 'burnoff' on the final night which can give you some interesting shots. There is also a firework show on the last night as well so take your tripod and give that a go too ![]() If you are interested check out the web for details..they did use to have information up on the website. |
