probably as rules still apply on track as well as off track if L or P plate driver , but it does look bit strange

In the UK, novices have to have a large 'X' on the back of the cars. Just as on the road, it does give a faster car overtaking an indication that the 'learner' might do something unexpected.

wouldnt you think it would be the same everywhere, so if iam over your way i look out for the big X
here you look out for L on square plate has to be on front and back of car (L =Learner ) or P plate (provisional license) so p plate is like after 50 hours of driving plus age 17 yrs where as L can be 16 years or obviously older.When you think of it ,on track or off its the same really , other drivers should be aware of your learning . But thats a subject on its own as half experience drivers dont deserve to have a license
