I used my tripod too (lol)
I submitted this shot, after fiddling with adobe RAW and then importing into Elements 6C & C welcome

I haven't done much here, Nellie...

Straightened the horizon so the sea doesn't drain away.

Brought out the shadow detail a little.

Increased saturation - especially in the timber piers which to me are the most important feature. You could do a selective b/w conversion with just the wood remaining coloured.

Any better?

Yes, it is much better! I am interested in the b/w conversion. The other half thinks there is a tutorial on it in Digital Photo. Ah! and he's just found me the 'Black and White handbook'.
Guess what I'm working on next...

Yay, but I think the sea is still draining out to the right, and maybe you could lift the shadows a little?

Took on board your suggestions and have actually got around to printing it out - well chuffed! I could get into this b/w business...now, on to the light box again...What a way to spend a Saturday night
