Bedfordshire Steam and County Fayre
Went to this event recently and although I did not have much time there, it was thoroughly enjoyable. Fantastic smell of oil, smoke and steam and the associated noises - I was in heaven! There was also a large contingent of vintage and veteran cars and motorbikes, and also tractors and farm machinery.
I guess that the steam fraternity tour the country, and some of the shots from other members at other events will have been attended by the same entrants. The only problem here was that unlike some of the other shots I've seen of this sort of event, there was no opportunity to get pictures of the engines without busy backgrounds. The parade route was surrounded by the crowd. I'll post up some more when i get them processed. ![]() ![]()

Re: Bedfordshire Steam and County Fayre
I went to a steam fair at Nostell a few months ago and the atmosphere is something else; the smell of the smoke combined with the music of the steam organs....fabulous.

Re: Bedfordshire Steam and County Fayre
Very nice set! Like the 2nd one best!
We go every year to the Shrewsbury steam rally which is great, but of course we have the same issues with busy backgrounds! |

Re: Bedfordshire Steam and County Fayre
Nice set Dabhand,#2 for me especially the chimney exhaust giving it life
It ran annually for 3 days over August bank holidays for over 30 years and included a fun fair powered by steam engines. Unfortunately it run fowl of our increasing litigation culture and insurance premiuns to match.
