Birds in 30 mins!
Amazing....my mum saw some kind of parrot in our garden, so I went to 'have a lookee, but it was gone when I got back (I was out at the time). But there were TWO jays on a blossom tree. Too good a chance to pass up. But I waited at the open window above my garden for about 1/2 hour, and saw TONNES of different species:
Robins Jays Woodpigeons Magpies Crows (duh) Tits (hehe, bad joke, but had to be made) Here are some of the better ones: ![]() ![]() And an experimental one: ![]() My first bird shoot ever, so don't be too mean ![]() Thanks, Jack M

Re: Birds in 30 mins!
Well done - nice captures. I thought the jay might have benefitted from a tighter crop, but after trying it I'm not so sure.

Great shot J , you are very lucky to have such a tree in your garden that attracts so many birds very well taken .

Re: Birds in 30 mins!
Thanks everyone! Yes matt! Go for it, a great lens, but make sure you get the APO version. Great price, and very versatile, added macro function is also useful.
Stepheno: yes I thought about that, and agree I am not so sure about the crop on the jay, but maybe on the tit, I thought it looked a little lost in its background. Thanks Pat, yes it is a very nice tree indeed, I haven't really spent much time looking at it, but now that I have, I see how many birds and things come into my garden! |

Re: Birds in 30 mins!
Enjoy your birdies - the jay is one that hasn't visited here - beautiful bird but evil nature!

Re: Birds in 30 mins!
in south london there are flocks of parrots living wild i was working up there a few years ago surveying an estate and kept seeing these birds and i was sure they were parrots eventually managed to see some in a nearby tree thought i was going mad
but apparently a few got out of an aviary and are breeding happily in the wild!!!!! |
