Woo hoo! Can you actually see it, can you actually see bluebells in front of your eyes, can you, can you, can you?
Now are you absolutely sure its not your imagination lol..... ooooff now that I've calmed down.... the bluebells are down in Wiltshire just south of Marlborough and the name of the wood is West Woods; Takes just over an hour from here in Warwick.... a great trip as you go past fantastic Rape fields as well. |

Good shot. I think the softness does add to it, you're right.
That place isn't a million miles from me, so I think I'll be off there soon! Thanks for the heads up! |

I have looked at this again today and think it has an almost mystical light and feel to it, which only adds to the enjoyment for me. It is a great shot!!

Thanks for all of your comments.... I was nervous about posting as it was my first picture post.
It is a fantastic place for bluebells, the best I've seen so far. Its a little tricky timing it right. Go too soon and the leaves may not be out enough on the trees or the flowers haven't quite bloomed; go too late and the bluebells have turned. Its timing it so that you get the greens and blues at their most vibrant and freshest. We've not been down for a couple of years but this year I'm looking forward to seeing how my Canon Powershot A610 copes with them instead of pinching my dads Fuji 602z. The shady days help with getting a realistic blue but to be honest I prefer the dappled sunlight through the trees it really does become very atmospheric. The first time we went I remember... I was on my hands and knees getting grubby trying to get a close-up shot of a bloom. It was about 7am in the morning so it was really quite eerie even though it was light. Anyway there I was when I heard this thunderous noise, I looked up to see a huge Stag literally bounding and leaping through the bluebells! He flew straight past me and what do I do? Well camera in hand I just gauped at the thing not even thinking for a second to take a picture of it. I was just so awestruck by it ,it was fantastic Needless to say I'll remember to wake up and use my blinkin' camera next time!!
