the saying " a picture can tell a story" definately is true with a shot like this. To me the picreally comes alive I think it is a exceptional .well done

PE........... what can i say, this blows all your other superb shots away!. it is poignant,. tells a multitude of stories.......... holds the eye....... i could go on and on.... its simply stunning and I would LOVE tosee this blown up big!

Well It's been said that the processing on this one is a little OTT and on reflection I have to agree to which I've put a less processed shot in my gallery

The one here was firstly 3 shots done in HDR (the one in my gallery is just 1 shot which shows it really didn't need HDR treatment)........tis a bad habit I'm in at the moment doing everything HDR

Did the usual curves adjustment.

The B&W conversion was processed with 'DXO' film plugin to represent 'Ilford Delta 400'.

Then it was just random dodging/burning adding some noise (probably too much).

Finallly USM 20.50.4 & border added.

i disagree that the processing is ott, I think it suits the mood of the shot perfectly. The only reason i asked is that ihave been trying to get a similar contrasty grainy look and have been dissapointed with the results i have been getting. Very impressive Ian and thanks for sharing the technique, you would rate the DXO film pugin then???
