It is very tranquil, and gives a real feeling of calm, any photograph that can evoke any sort of emotion has to be good

One of the reasons maybe that it has 'Good Lines'!
The stream leads you up into the image and the bridge acts as a barrier that stops you from wandering too far from the intended focal point. The angles of the tree/trees work well to frame the bridge also. Also the trees are on nice angles. Not being to specific, but this is why you probably like it because the composition is great and it is easy to look at because the eye is told what to do. It is a beautifully framed image, also nicely exposed! |

Forgot to mention the highlight of the small waterfall also helps it. I think Skipper posted a thread recently saying where the eye is supposed to go in an image (it may not have been the most correct list but certainly some things are true) and highlights and contrast were on there, again your image has these in small doses attracting the eye to the areas that all the lines dictate you to go!

this is a really nice image, and the composition is excellent, but for my eyes ( or maybe taste ) it is too green, hope you dont mind but i changed the season a bit.........

no problem steve......... i duplicated the layer, opened an adjustment layer, chose channel mixer, moved the red to -48%, green to 200% and red to -52%,, ran it thru a very gentle USM and there you have it

It's a beautiful image Stevie, I like it a lot. I also like Fiona's pimp of it. It is actually two entirely different pictures but both work really nicely. My fave is the green I must say but I like them both.
