Brighton Beach

Really like #2. The composition, colours + sharp detail all work for me
 #1 I like the bright sharpness of the birds + colours in the stones. Pity we got a view of their rear-ends  I like the silhouette in the BG but would've liked front-to-back sharp focus (DoF) to allow detail in the sea to be appreciated.#3 Would fall under "snap-shot" for me (sorry). HTH

Ahh thanks very much for the comments guys! And thanks for the in-depth advice Charlotte, thought definitely went into the crop and composition of #3 though!
 The DOF in #1 was intentional too. I guess everybody like different things in photos though. Thanks for the C&C

Absolutely Nikklaus, it's all a matter of personal taste
One thing I wanted to add (just thought of it now) as to why I'd like the sea to be sharper in image #1, is because the sea, i.e. the out-of-focus part, covers such a large area of the frame, about two-thirds of it I'd say, leaving only one-third of the frame (being the foreground + birds) in focus. I'm not saying that it's wrong to compose an image in that way, it's just my personal preference
