Re: Central, Yes, no, maybe!
One of them!
![]() Think it becomes less important the less there is tho' I'll admit that I tend to still go for offcentre and into a 1/3rd almost every time. Like the simplicity of comp - maybe a touch of levels to extend the white point? |

Yes - I'd still go for off centre and it does look a little flat. Nice image that conveys emotion though, so Skip should like it.

Re: Central, Yes, no, maybe!
If any photo shop experts out there want to have a go at improving levels and stuff? fill your boots.
My only request is, if you can make it look better can I have exact details of the actions you perform so I can replicate them on the original. This is a picture of my son on Bracklesham beach at low tide and I intend to have this printed wide so, if you can help me? please do! |

Re: Central, Yes, no, maybe!
Well, went for the "in for a penny" solution and put him way over to one side, tho' probably unecessarily far as a crop of existing shot would work, I think!
![]() ![]() Slight rotate to align with top wave Auto Levels in PS to push up white point Little dodging of boy - not much detail in that shadow but worth trying to bring out a bit to relieve the solidity Insert space RHS and clone in waves using a mix of 100% and 50% opacity to go some way in disguising the join and source of cloning Dodge highlights of RHS to match the RHS of original shot (again to mask the cloned in section) Little sharpening "Marmite" bars as border to emphasise the horizontal nature It's not great but it gives you an idea of what is possible!
