Re: Chatsworth Hunt
I love #9! You didn't show us a dreamy picture of a horse with all hooves off the ground, but you got Mr. Spandex with both hooves off the ground. Good timing! Looks like a great day.

Re: Chatsworth Hunt
That's too bad because the subject is great in that picture.. floppy dog ears, horse elevated, etc, etc. As an aside, what is all the white on the chest of the horse? I have visions of a clown and a cream pie hiding at the previous stand of trees.

Re: Chatsworth Hunt
gsgary nice photos, the only problem is with light settings. try to use automatic on light source or remember to change it when conditions are different (photo 4, 9 and that last one). anyway - very good job.

Re: Chatsworth Hunt
We have a Bloodhound pack fairly near to us and boy those runners are fit!! They get a 45min head start on the hounds and they can really put some distance between them in that time. One of the runners I know has been known to carry a box on Bonios for when the hounds catch up with him. Imagine being mobbed by those jowly lumps!

Re: Chatsworth Hunt
I have to laugh and throw myself under the bus on this one.
I had no idea that you use people as runners for these fox hunts. I thought you just took a picture of a local jogger who happened to be going by you. Now I know why he was running in a hiking boots! I think this embarrassing moment sufficiently highlights cultural gaps in appreciating photography. ![]() |

Re: Chatsworth Hunt
I entirely agree with Gary, I am totally against fox-hunting in this manner but am fine with them chasing a runner or drag-hunting a scent. Just as long as the hounds don't rip the poor runner to shreds like they used to do the foxes!
Seriously though, these are a really good set and have captured the event really well. This is a really good example of where the whole is greater than its component parts. i do NOT mean that the pictures are less than good, they are excellent. But the complete set has even more because it tells the whole story so to speak. Maybe just one shot to show them relaxing the horses and hounds after the chase would finish the set off? Just a thought. Good work as always Gary. Cheers, Rob
