Chatsworth International Horse Trials

Well I managed to get over to Chatsworth and try something different.

These were from Saturday with the major event today (Sunday).

Never done anything like this and a few more lessons were learnt along the way

Excellent set, particularly #3, you really caught the action well. The crowds don't look too bad, was it quiet?

I think you've caught the facial expressions amazingly well! They say it all really!!

Thanks Colin.......it was nicely spaced out with only the water jumps a little crowded but not too bad.

Apart from the showers I really enjoyed the day.

O and a special thanks to Hacker & dod who were both good enough to answer my PM's and give me some tips & advice

Ahhh, you made it then? Great set of shots tho' none of anyone falling in! LOL! Sadly, I didn't get to go this year - next year!

Because it's only the 2nd year since the return to Chatsworth and not one of the mainstream events it doesn't (yet!) get the crowds.

Yes I made it mate..........no problem with being from Sheffield either

I guessed you hadn't made it as I didn't see a Sigma SD10

I would have liked to have gone today as well but will have to wait until next year......was really enjoyable day out.

absolutely stunning set PE, i am soo ealous i would love to go and shoot an event like that....... unfortunately i dont think there is anything like that up here!

Fiona, there are some events up your way.....

British Eventing Calendar

Eventing (particularly the cross country stage) is a good day out with some excellent photo opportunities.

excellent stuff Thanx Colin........... i forgot all about oatridge...... didint even realise they still held it ( was only a relatively small show when i was doing my BHSAI training)
that is ust 15 minutes from me.fingers crossed i can get the car!. floors castle next weekend is a possiblility as well!.... hmmmmm well if anyone is going to them let me know!

Good set P-E

Biggest challenge in my eyes is capturing a pose where the horse looks natural ...all those legs hanging everywhere

Great set Ian

I rather like the last one - regardless of when you actually took it - to me it symbolises the end of a huge effort, with perhaps the realisation that it was not quite good enough.......
