Chatsworth Park
Over to Chatsworth on Sunday for a wander through the Park
#1 The Dipper OK, it's a weir but the Dipper is there, on the branch sticking out of the water above the weir! And yes, managed to get some shots of it as well! ![]() Canon 350D, 70-300mm IS @ 70mm, f/32, 1/20, ISO100, HH #2 The House ![]() Canon 350D, Sigma 10-20mm @ 20mm, f/10, 1/100, ISO100, CP, HH #3 The Duckling Caught this duckling drying itself off after diving underwater ![]() Canon 350D, 70-300mm IS @ 300mm, f/5.6, 1/125, ISO100, HH #4 The Duck Nearest an adult would appear to be capable of diving! ![]() Canon 350D, 70-300mm IS @ 95mm, f/5.6, 1/125, ISO100, HH #5 The Dog Having discovered that the ducks were much cleverer than she was and knew they were safe! ![]() Canon 350D, 300mm f/4 IS, 1.4X TC, f/7.1, 1/200, ISO100, HH Comments good, bad or indifferent are all very welcome! ![]()

Re: Chatsworth Park
Good stuff. Have to like the dog, but number four is special and if you don't object I'd like to place number two in my desktop wallpaper collection.

Re: Chatsworth Park
Agreed, good set - but #2 is the stand-out - loads to look at: great sky tones, interesting cloud formations, house and water - great overall composition

Re: Chatsworth Park
Cheers, Dave.
Agree that a slower shutter may produce interesting results (which can't be said for all 'falls) but I wasn't going to get anything like slow enough in the bright conditions. It's only just down the road, so will return early on a damp dismal day (something I've been meaning to do, to have a bash at getting the deer) |

Re: Chatsworth Park
Yeah love the light in #2, and the diving duck is a great shot to get 'her' head clearly too, only thing is, body takes up most of the image, and it's not tack sharp, as I guess you were focussing on the head?

Re: Chatsworth Park
Cheers, guys!

Yeah, was going for the head, trying to get focus and zoom right so the result is a little bit of a fumble snapshot. It's the angle that ensured visible head and it was close in (maybe 6 feet away) and somewhat unexpected with the dog about (but they were pretty laid back relaxed quacks I have to say - well used to idiot dogs!) |

Re: Chatsworth Park
Oh! Don't remember that! OK, leaving aside the dodgy PS, nice waterfall!
Where, what, when and how are just a few of the questions I have! But yes, that kind of thing. Know it's a real cliche (so something I would tend to not want to do) I've just got it in my head to do! BTW, one easily achieveable thing, which is back this year is to go to this: Chatsworth 'Beyond Limits' 6 x 200k September/October I think - and it's just sooooooo photogenic! Couldn't get to it last year (to my disgust!) Edit: LOL, Jack! About the only way to get the quiet we'll need! |

Re: Chatsworth Park
Well I've no idea where the deer hang out
![]() The 'Beyond Limits' looks good. There is also Chatsworth country fair coming up too.....plenty of things to photograph but obviously gets busy. |
