cheryl&flick (nudity warning)
Converted these to black and white and before anybody says that they are too high contrast the prints from my canon i9950 are superb!
Everytime I upload black and white images they lose so much, can anybody tell me why this is? ![]() ![]() |

I don't think the contrast is too high. I quite like it.

Hi Gary.
Nice images. Have you done any with available day-light, not only more flattering for figure shots but easier to control the contrast with diffussion screens and reflectors. If I may also suggest. if your shooting digital, shoot raw files only and under expose by a stop and adjust in levels or curves untill you get the high lights just how you want them or if your going to load them up make them 10% less contrasty than you would for printing on your canon printer and see what happens. Just a few houghts. Keep shooting. |

Cheers Bruce, I did some in portugal using available light and reflectors and fill flash when I was an assistant many years ago. I am still working on getting the digital stuff down to pat as im more used to shooting kodachrome 64 or 25. Thanks for the tips though.
Eosd, cheers for the tip, I will give it a go next time, when I resize I do so to about 500/600 and then save as jpg and move the quality slider till I get an image around 70-100k. |

Gary, size doesn't matter! well file size anyway in these broadband days. If you want your images to display on the web at their best, do not use any compression at all, better yet use the PNG format instead of jpg.
