Re: Cholmondeley Castle

Nice work Mike - love the POV and the vapour trail down the side of the shot.

From the fact that you have given the shot a "white white" border, can I safely assume that you were going for a slightly aged look?

Never been there. Good exposure allowing plenty of detail to show

I see what you mean about the border Cathie, I wish I could say it was intentional on my part but it's the standard border I use for most of the shots I post on the web, I find that with the drop shadow effect it helps to 'lift' the pic from the background.

It's well worth a visit if you're in the area. Only the grounds are open to the public, but there's plenty to photograph there.

Thanks for the comments

Re: Cholmondeley Castle

cracking shot, and what a lovely atmospheric building. only thing i would sort would be the cv's as the building has that leaning back look.

That was the effect I was after Fi, (the converging verticals )... I think it makes the building look larger, more imposing and it also seems to work better converted to B&W as it gives a more dramatic effect, all IMHO of course . It was taken with my Sigma 10-20 @ 11mm.

Thanks for the comments
