Re: Corn

For me black and white with a little more contrast Sawdust, I dont think the coloured ears add to the picture.

As far as composition goes I would have preferred to see the bale a little more to the left of the frame to balance the picture with the taller ears of corn.

That said I think its a lovely picture very evocative, and just goes to show that even if the ideal light isn't around you can still create a great image.

Matt

Re: Corn

Yup, B/W it all - or keep all colour. Crop off left end to decentralise the bale and clone out the stalk that goes out of shot at the top - well, that's what I'd do!

Re: Corn

I'm with Mark with the crop, and agree with Matt that it would have worked better with the bale on the LHs to give balance. If you had got all of the tallest one in the frame and the bale on the LHS - perfect.

Still a very nice shot, and I do like the selective treatment too.

Re: Corn

I like the level of focus and sharpness you've captued in the corn whilst getting good OOF blur on the bale. I agree that the bale needs to be off-centre and I'm not keen on the selective colouring.

cheers

Re: Corn

Great shot but Im in the camp of "simple black n white" I don't think that the selective colouring works on this shot.
