Cotswolds

A couple of shots taken this afternoon with Sigma 10-20mm . In both cases I had to crop quite heavily as I was too far from subjects.

Comments on how to improve are welcome ....even brutal ones

The second one looks like you've put the horizon miles off-level just to get the sign post vertical? Nice shot... just not sure it works cos of the wonky horizon.

I have to agree, i love the second image, but the sloping clouds draw your eye down to the right.

I'd still be happy to have an image like that in my archive.

edited to say........much better, I was typing this while the image was reposted

Well spotted GFK. The sign was actually leaning over miles, so I corrected via perspective crop but didn't notice the horizon change . You've got the right side correct, but in original the left was lot higher as quite a steep hill coming down from that direction.

I like that first picture and I really wish I could give you a constructive reason why. I think it's the colours and the crop.

The second one does look better with the straight horizon.

One day I'm gonna get me one of those spinky wide angle lenses!

TBH the 1st shot could have been taken with a std lens, as I was quite a way back due to barb wired fence, & thus cropped heavily even though at 20mm. 2nd shot also was at 20mm. It's quite hard to find a subject that works well at 10mm (examples here) ...but hey, who wants it easy
