A Couple of Panos...
Everyone else is still asleep so I had a bit of time on CS2. Two panos of Porec for your consideration. The second one is using the velvia plug-in.

Re: A Couple of Panos...
Don't go much on the first, love the second. This is a good shot that proves not EVERY shot works best in mono
![]() Love the way the pano holds together with the clouds, the mediterranean feel to the roofs (very slightly over-saturated methinks) and water. Nice work. Cheers, Rob |

Re: A Couple of Panos...
Stephen, how many shots, how much compression are we looking at here? Definitely prefer the colour version but there seems to be a lot of details missing, probably as a result of the conversion to a viewable size.

Re: A Couple of Panos...
Colour version for me too Stephen, the Velvia Vision treatment is very effective here

Re: A Couple of Panos...
Thanks Sonsey - it's the first time I've tried it, but as said it might be a tad oversaturated.
Dan, I'm sure your are right about losing detail. The pano consists of four jpgs each of about 2.5mb in size. It has been compressed to 112kb so something has to give. This is one of the original shots reduced for web-viewing - to give you some idea.

Re: A Couple of Panos...
Hi sweet_sac - you can do it manually in Photoshop but it's a long process. Most people use a stitching programme, Canon have their own called Photostitch which usually comes as a freebie when you buy some hardware but I use Serif PanoramaPlus 2. You take four or five shots with a slight overlap, open them in the programme and follow the instructions. The skill is in getting the shots right to start with, same exposure, focus, sharpness etc.
If you Google you'll find others HTH |
