A day walking in the Alps near Benediktbeuern.

The train journey took a little over two hours and then by this part of the walk the sun was high in and the light was harsh. Sky held back with ND filters but it was still a difficult shot to capture. This final shot was a combination of two differently processed RAW images joined together and blended with further extensive adjustment layers.

The cow on the left of the picture came over having a nosey once it had got use to me being there.

A view across the valley and the lake to the tree covered mountains in the distance. Another hazy day but there was still some photos to be taken.

Sunset over the lake

A panoramic with a difference. Processed and cropped vertically to be made into a bookmark

That’s it for photographs from this trip, tomorrow I fly back to the UK. The weather has been good, the food tasty, the beers cold and the company great. I look forward to getting back here soon.

Again thanks for looking.

that second one especially makes me very jealous. I've been looking for that compressed hills type shot for months but never caught the light.

Two very nice sets

Those where shot with the 17-40L...the first with ND filters and extensive PS work, the last two just processed the raw file and altered the colour shift for the "bookmark" panoramic.

1st 1/200sec f7.1 handheld.
3rd 1/20sec f14 tripod, mirror lockup and remote release.
4th 1/6sec f16 tripod, mirror lockup and remote release.
