Re: Dunfermline
Well there are some lovely tones & detail in the shot
The shot overall gives the impression of a fine drawing / painting , especially at the bottom where you are trying to get detail out of the shadow area. If that is the effect you are after then it is a success. If you are trying to get an overall imprssion of a well exposed photograph I would say you need at least 3-4 raw shots taken across the RAW range to mix in some HDR S/W. What processing did you do Fiona ? Are you using any HDR S/W ? |

Re: Dunfermline
Thanx Dave, it was actually a fairly uninteresting, soft and dark image. i used the lucisart filter in photoshop after trying various different techniques to put some life into. This was the best of a bad bunch.
I just use CS2 Fi |

Well I think you have achieved what you set out to do, Fi. Very P-E -esque.

Re: Dunfermline
Good work Fiona, it worked well. Composition of the pic itself is a tad spoilt by the cropping of the door at the bottom which makes it feel incomplete BUT that is not what this pic is about so that is a side issue.
That LucisArts filter is pretty good for some things (awful for others but that's the way with most filters!) so used well it can give some excellent results. Cheers, Rob |

Re: Dunfermline
pE the settings i used on the filter was Whyeth at 22 on the slider and the second button form the left.
rob i know the composition is slightly out, to be honest i was more experimenting with the lighting and i didint expect to get a half useable image out of it. It was taken with the 6900 which is TERRIBLE in low light so i was pretty pleased i got anything! lol Thanx for the comments as always! Fiona |
