Duxford Flying Legends (56k warning)

Before I post anything I've got to say how much respect I now have for you aviation 'togs, I didn't realise how difficult it was! One observation from yesterday is that there were an awful lot of white lenses on display, in particular the 100-400mm.

Anyway here are some of mine, I had real problems to begin with trying to shoot the F-15 and in the end I removed the TC and just used the 70-200mm 'bare'. Oh how I would have loved some longer glass today!

Liking number 5 the best.

Brings back memories of camping near to RAF Conningsby, and watching the Lancaster / Spitfires setting of and returning each day.

Really good shots, Colin, but I have a question. A lot of the shots give the appearance that you are shooting from another plane flying alongside . I presume this isn't the case so is it just that they are flying very low

Yes, they were flying low so I'll take that as a compliment seeing as it was my first airshow!

Wow! These are fabulous!! My favourites are the jet looking thing (#5) and the Memphis Belle!!

I can't wait to see what you can do from your second airshow if this was your first!!

Re: Duxford Flying Legends (56k warning)

Got the shutter speed just right to get that blur of any props

Same as you Colin ,when at RIATs last year only had the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 .... ended up taking more shots with Sigma 10-20mm of planes on the ground

Not sure how the Nikon 80-400mm lens would perform, as keep reading about slow focusing Think Canon are ahead with their model of this lens range.

A Guy who works a few doors down the corridor to me was also at ths show. I showed him these shots and he was well impressed.

Not seen any of his yet. Maybe now I won't!
