Duxford Flying Legends (56k warning)
Before I post anything I've got to say how much respect I now have for you aviation 'togs, I didn't realise how difficult it was! One observation from yesterday is that there were an awful lot of white lenses on display, in particular the 100-400mm.
Anyway here are some of mine, I had real problems to begin with trying to shoot the F-15 and in the end I removed the TC and just used the 70-200mm 'bare'. Oh how I would have loved some longer glass today! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Liking number 5 the best.
Brings back memories of camping near to RAF Conningsby, and watching the Lancaster / Spitfires setting of and returning each day. |

Really good shots, Colin, but I have a question. A lot of the shots give the appearance that you are shooting from another plane flying alongside . I presume this isn't the case so is it just that they are flying very low

Yes, they were flying low so I'll take that as a compliment seeing as it was my first airshow!

Wow! These are fabulous!! My favourites are the jet looking thing (#5) and the Memphis Belle!!
I can't wait to see what you can do from your second airshow if this was your first!! |

Re: Duxford Flying Legends (56k warning)
Got the shutter speed just right to get that blur of any props
![]() Same as you Colin ,when at RIATs last year only had the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 .... ended up taking more shots with Sigma 10-20mm of planes on the ground ![]() Not sure how the Nikon 80-400mm lens would perform, as keep reading about slow focusing Think Canon are ahead with their model of this lens range.

A Guy who works a few doors down the corridor to me was also at ths show. I showed him these shots and he was well impressed.
Not seen any of his yet. Maybe now I won't! |
