The Early Bird.........

........ catches the fish

Canon 350D, Canon 100-400mm IS, 1.4x TC, monopod

Wandered over to Cosmeston Lakes Country Park (missed sunrise..... but it was rubbish anyway. Honest!)

Wheeeee.......
Swan executing a perfect slide landing

Canon 350D, Canon 100-400mm IS, 1.4x TC, monopod

Perfect Pose
Actually, squizzer was trying to work out how to get home - which was the other side from me!

Canon 350D, Canon 100-400mm IS, 1.4x TC, monopod

Big Feet
Just love Coots ('bald as a' derives from them!) for their enormous feet - and the water's making them even bigger!

Canon 350D, Canon 100-400mm IS, 1.4x TC, monopod

Hang The Emperor
This Emperor dragonfly was very patient with me - I even got a 9 shot pano of this pose which I'll get around to processing sometime but is looking good

Sigma SD10, Sigma 105mm macro, tripod

Comments of good, bad, indifferent all welcome!
TFL!

Thanks, Angela! Forgot to mention that the first one, the Grebe, I'll show what happens when a seagull decided to mug it for it's breakfast!

Was ISO100. Ironically, had not long gone from 400 to 100 as I moved out of trees and morning had brightened. Sadly, didn't have the time to shift ISOs (and no, wouldn't have helped with a 40D and Auto ISO as I would NEVER switch that on! Hate 'best guess' Auto for anything as usually wrong, I've found, for where it really counts!)

Edit: Soz, should explain further: image was very dark and noise has come from 'pushing' the image (which seems way worse than when I 'push' Sigma, surprisingly)

Re: The Early Bird.........

I wasn't sure if it was noise or something that happened during upload.

The swan shot is exceptional

Many thanks for the comments! Appreciated!

Yup, Brian, it is the 'L' lens - and very nice it is too (despite it not being mine!)
