elgol

I am scanning these slides using my 'oldish' Minolta Scan Dual at it's maximum 2880 DPI.However,it has great problems with even slightly contrasty slides, not seeing very far into shadows and blowing highlights when there is detail on the slide.I also,if it came to printing some of these files, would ideally want to run some of them through a noise reduction programme [which I don't have].Anyway,we work with the tools at hand and this slide looked quite good in its colour original , in a viewer or projected, but not too smart after scanning. It's at Elgol on Skye,a very photogenic location if somewhat difficalt to reach without a car!!.

Re: elgol

It's a lovely comp there, with those wonderful clouds! As you say, a bit noisy, which would be difficult to clear in mono

Re: elgol

Love that dramatic sky and particularly the texture of the stones in the FG.

Re: elgol

Difficult to rid this off noise without losing detail but I do like the tone and composition. The sky looks almost IR but captures that area of the world really well.

Difficult to get to without a car? Pretty difficult WITH a car unless you mean of the amphibious type
