Re: Exeter Cathedral

.......Obviously you had no problems walking inside taking pictures ?

Only reason I ask is I had no problem at York & Lincoln but wasn't allowed to take pictures on my visit to Durham Cathedral last year.

Re: Exeter Cathedral

They charge £1 for a pass and, although I didn't, you could use flash. I gave a fiver and said put the change in the upkeep fund. certainly a good hours worth.

Re: Exeter Cathedral

Really good set Stepheno. I like them all, but the organ makes a great contrast to the church architecture.

Thanks Graham, I was pleased with them myself. The place was so full of overseas study tours the only decent shots were up

Re: Exeter Cathedral

I love this set, I am also a fan of architectural interiors like this.

I do find the first one jars slightly with the converging verticals so I have just adjusted it to straighten them up and see what it looks like. You may prefer the original, it is all a matter of taste I guess. See what you think anyway.

Cheers,
Rob

It's better, thanks. I don't usually spend much time on editing, just levels and curves usually. I must try to remember stuff like converging verticals

The first two were with the Tamron 18-200 f3.5-6.3 taken at 18mm and the third was with the Canon 50mm f1.8.

Re: Exeter Cathedral

I like the original better, not the converging correction. The correction looks flat, not in the contrast sense, but seems to have less depth or sense of height. The original conveys that soaring feeling of the arches.

Very cool photo.
