I took these on Thursday night, family portraits for friends of mine. Here's the results.
This might help to show a simple lighting setup in practice. As talked about in anna_marie09's question here. help with lighting etc I took these in Rikki & Tinas living room using the curtains as a background and and the sofa as a prop. I used one light with a gold umbrela positioned on my left at about 45 degrees from the sofa. I set this light to full power and used it as a slave. I then attached my flashgun to the camera and bounced the flash off the wall to my right. After a couple of light meter readings (see #6) I was ready to go. The Flash - Metz CL-4di The camera - Minolta 7D The Lens - Minolta 28-105mm Top Tip - When taking portraits of kids especialy, make sure they do not wear clothes with big bright logos on them. They are distracting and draw the eye away from the face. (Reece wanted to wear his Celtic football top) #1 The Durwards - Rikki, Tina, Jenna & Reece (oh yes, & Codie) ![]() My pick of the bunch, Rikki & Reece like father, like son. And likewise with Tina & Jenna. Even Codies looking the right way #2 Never Work With Kids Or Animals ![]() I think the title is speaks for itself ![]() #3 There's Always One ![]() Trust Rikki to be the one missbehaving. I really like the four different facial expresions on this one, think it tells a story. #4 A Hug? No Way! ![]() Just happened to catch this one when Tina was trying to get them to hug. #5 Chillin ![]() Reece relaxes after the shoot, its hard work all this modeling u know #6 Space Cadet ![]() Had a bit of fun with one of the test shots, serves Rikki right for always pinching my lighter. ![]() |
