A few faces from the Tour Of Britain.

Went to see the start of the Yorkshire stage of the Tour Of Britain this morning.

I got there early and was greeted by a steward telling me to go to the tent and get my vest on

"but I'm not riding"

no he said "your press vest"

Anyway not much chance of catching much action as the start is a little chaotic so had a poke around the riders chilling just before they set off.

Blooming Heck Ian, what a superb set of cycling shots. The 1st movement one in particular would happily sit in a cycling magazine. I think they are all great, but I love the pensive expression in the third. They look very smooth, did you go for a low ISO?

Thanks Sarah.......firstly I must say a big thank you to Sarah (Whipspeed) who yesterday was more than happy to share advice/tips shooting cyclists (rep points deservedly awarded)

although I didn't manage to get the excellent action shots she does......this sport is certainly hard to shoot

Thanks, you can tell they are low ISO as they are very smooth, which suits the subject.

Sarah gave me a few tips of how to find out where and when there were cycling events, but I've yet to use her advice - when things quieten down for me a touch! Honest!

Tut, Mark! I'll have to let you know when our club organises another trip to the Newport Velodrome, you can come and have a go shooting them, with camera obviously.

Actually after the tour had left the start and on the way to the finish in Bradford, the race was stopped and restarted........evidently some of the local councils had not allowed all of the roads on the course to be closed

.......cars were oncoming towards the cyclists which almost ended in disaster
