Re: First Ever football match
Its been quiet I think every is out rolling in the snow!
I like them, I wonder if a closer crop onto the main subjects on 1 and 4 would give them more omph, you know in the last one where theres 3 headless bodies, clone them out too? I'm not a football fan I actually hate it but I like 2 and 3 comp wise and for catching the guy about to fall on his bum lol |

Re: First Ever football match
SNOW? what snow and where? lol its lovely here, bit of a cold wind but nice and dry!
im with you on football , i dont particularly like it either, but it was something to shoot that i hadnt done before. I did think about cloning hte others out, but i wanted to keep an idea of the match. and i did want to keep the stadium in the first one as it wont be there for much longer as the team have actually ust sold the ground for houses to be built. Thanx. Fi |

Re: First Ever football match
I THINK THEY ARE VERY GOOD FIONA, AS THIS IS YOUR FIRST FOOTBALL MATCH, I THINK YOU HAVE DONE VERY WELL, WITH YOUR ACTION SHOTS. I DID THINK THE FIRST ONE WAS A SPOT THE BALL COMPETITION TO BEGIN WITH.
GOOD ON YOU ANYWAY, WELL DONE. ![]() |

Re: First Ever football match
I think they're quite good, although a wider aperture would have given them that classic sports paper stand-outy-ness. IN these I feel you can see the background a little too much.
Yep snowing here too ![]() |

Re: First Ever football match

Re: First Ever football match
I shoot soccer most Saturdays - these shots are very good. As Jack says you need to adjust the aperture to get the right dof. Yours is long and most is in focus - you need a short dof so that the players in the foreground stand out. However, they are sharp, the ball is in every shot which gives purpose to each image. Don't forget to use burst to get the right shot - after all the 30D is excellent for that

Re: First Ever football match
Like these Fi, having shot a couple of footy matches myself i know you can end up with lots of shots with the ball in the shot and players missing or cropped in really wierd angles or vice versa. nice sharp piccies
