First proper digital B+W.

I used to heaps of B+W printing in the old fashioned way, but never had a proper go at digital B+W. This forum inspired me to have a go and yestersay i did. This is my first effort.
i contemplated dropping in a fake sky, but decided to leave it. After about 10 adjustment levels and masks this is what i came up with.
This is the view of a lake about 30 mins drive from our house in Andalucia and with temperatures still reaching 30degrees C you can still swim in it which is much needed refreshment as it hasn't properly rained here in about 4months, and you can see from the pic the lake is very low.

Thats a great scene to have just 30 mins away from your house. I wish it was 30 degree here too, oh how I miss the summer

I can see why you may have have thought about repacing the sky but I think the real one is strong enough to balance this shot as it is

Re: First proper digital B+W.

Here's a screen shot of the different layers etc.
basically i dropped saturation, changed the hue in a few differnent levels and masked out areas i wanted to remain the same, altered levels for whole image, changed curves on clouds, and altered levels again on all but clouds and part of lake.

Took me a while as i am not used to working in B+W, i see things much easier in colour, but i'm now determined to continue having more goes at the B+W and eventually it'll become clearer i've no doubt.
