The lighting was practically non-existent for the intimate Sugababes gig I shot yesterday at the Barony Church in Glasgow. First two songs and no flash meant I had to reach for my primes... 1/80 sec, ISO 800 and wide open at f/1.4 on a D2X.
![]() Kudos to CaptureONE and NoiseNinja for squeezing the most out of my RAW files - which meant that the NY desk accepted 16 out of the 29 shots that I filed (from 120 taken!) Ah well - roll on January ![]() |

Good result!
It makes you wonder where the sensor and noise reduction technology will be in another five or ten years. |

Awesome! The Barony at Strathclyde Uni yeah? Believe it or not I have sat many an exam in that very hall.
Excellent shot too. I saw Sugababes @ Koko and it was a riot! |

What I might do is punt on one of the D2X's and my least used DX lens... the Nikkor 12-24 f/4. I'd bundle in a SlingShot 200 bag and my lexar 4GB 80x CF card. The funds raised from that sale would contribute quite a bit towards the necessary 14-24 and 24-70 Nikkors to pair up with my D3's. Last I saw, Calumet were doing a package deal on both lenses for £2400. If I could lop around £1500 or so of that, I'd be a happy man. |
