I like these Fiona
 Bottom petals are a bit overexposed on the 1st one caused by harsh uneven lighting, which also leaves the LH petals in shadow; perhaps the light source needed shifting higher or moving further away for softer, more even lighting, or try using a diffuser or reflector for different lighting effects. I like the selective focusing + composition on the 2nd one. Overall, very good, given that it's not your thing |

Very nice Fi! I agree with Charlotte about the over-exposure in the first one and the little bit of stem sticking out at the bottom is a little distracting. The second one is lovely though

Much prefer the 2nd one, the colour of the background complements the colour of the flower and leaves.

I daren't say too much as I have just added a flower shot for critique as it is not a genre I have a lot of expertise in either. I agree about the unbalanced exposure and I don't like the side of the flower being in shadow. 2nd one is a more interesting composition and the front flower is in focus so the diff. focusing is working well enough.
