Flowers Of Interest

I'm not a great taker of flowers but I've a friend who drags me off to various flower places (she even submits to various flower mags), so I have taken the odd shot. And, like all my photography, I'll consider taking a shot of anything if it inspires me!

Put together theese shots in response to Rob suggesting http://www.pixalo.com/community/phot...errr-17037.htm that to get a different flower shot you have to do something funky. I submit these aren't funky but I do hope they're interesting!

#1
Some sort of cactus thing, taken at Bristol Botanical Garden (just before they moved, so not much there!)

#2
A licheny weird macro - taken at the foot of Pen y Fan

#3
Backlit plant against the red rock of Uluru

#4
Spiny plant at National Botanical Garden of Wales

#5
Flower with seeds trapped in a web at National Botanical Garden of Wales

Hopefully you'll agree that they're slightly different and slightly interesting!

Re: Flowers Of Interest

BRILLIANT.

1 and 3 are outstanding, 2 is weirdly interesting, 4 is a neat composition and 5 is OK.

Great work!

Re: Flowers Of Interest

4 is cool, very nice comp, and perfect focus point and DOF Others are good too, but not as good as that one, although, #1 is nice also from a "new" viewpoint.

Great shots as usual, inspiring me to look at flowers in different ways so thanks.

Now that's what I'm talking about...............
These shots show the creativity required to make them stand apart from all the others.
Not "just another picture of a yellow flower"

Well done.

Re: Flowers Of Interest

3 & 5 are really nice. Obviously the lighting on 3 just a shame that there is a lot of movement in the grasses and 5 is just cool. I originally thought the seeds are floating down as you took the shot but since noticed the cobweb they're attached too. Still very nice.
