Frost on the car

I noticed a lot of pics of frost recently so have been feeling left out. Along comes Mr Jack Frost and paints his beautiful abstract idea of art on my car bonnet so I just had to take it! I grabbed a couple of frost covered leaves (went for brown ones as they contrasted better) and upped the contrast in PS to see what it looked like. I like abstract and for me this works but see what ytou think. Doers it work or not? This kind of thing is entirely down to personal taste but will be interesting to see what different people think.

Cheers,
Rob

Re: Frost on the car

Rob,

I like the shot a lot, but I do have a love for all things abstract. I think the addition of the leaves is interesting and works (kind of makes it look like a mountainous scene) but I would be interested to see one without aswell. I think it's great when you can see an every day subject and turn it in to an image!!

Cheers,

Matt

Re: Frost on the car

Very interesting. I'd like to see one without the leaves, or maybe with the leaves in a different position.

I guess that I'm feeling that there is not enough leaf in the shot, or if the leaves could be arranged better to give a layered effect, or if a landscape orientation would have given more scope for leaf p[lacement and or layering?

A nice seasonal image, though, and it works for me too.

Gorgeous colour. Stunning abstract. Not sure about the brown leaves as I find the blue frost patterns more appealing.... but that's just a personal thing.

Re: Frost on the car

this is different........ now this may be the reason why i dont usually like abstract...... but where are the leaves?
the frost and the colour are gorgeous, but the dark things( are these leaves? they dont look it?) i think spoil the effect of the frost.

Re: Frost on the car

Where are the leaves Fiona? You mean apart from the brown ones (as stated in the first post) with the serated edges and frost on them? LOL, you really must put more water with that Scotch whisky <g>

Just kidding, but yes those are the leaves and actually, as Mouldy picked up on, I had the idea in my mind (when I did the crop, not when I took it) that it sort of mimicked a mountainous scene in a very abstract sort of way.

Thanks for the comments so far, much appreciated.

Cheers,
Rob

Re: Frost on the car

hmmmmmmmm they dont look like leaves............. and i am not completely p***ed........ only had a few at the darts this afeternoon honest! lol

it doesntl loiok like a mountain scene to me either........BUT like i said THAT is why i dont do abstract cos i just dont see things that are there

Alan thought that the bluue was frozen leaves and the brown was concrete.

FWIW, Rob, I could see what you were trying to achieve, (no wine this week as I'm working nights ), I just thought it could be better.
