Frozen feathers - Tit in action
Great Tit entertaining a goldfinch which kept munching away through all the comings and goings of the rest. High iso - 1000+ to get exposures down to 1/2000th in fairly poor light.
![]() I don't need fanning - It's cool enough out here! ![]() Is My deoderant working? (1/2000th @f4.5 iso 1000 sigma 70-200 f2,8) ![]() Bandits coming out of the sun at 10oclock ![]() Flaps down and air brakes applied!

I really like No. 2. Great shot

Re: Frozen feathers - Tit in action
I love that first one Fang, it is a great shot with balance in having birds either side but contrast in having the Great tit with wings open and the goldfinch wings folded in.
Love that ![]() Cheers, Rob |

Re: Frozen feathers - Tit in action
Good captures of the spread wings, well timed and most of them look sharp

Re: Frozen feathers - Tit in action
Well captured, it's something I've never managed to do
Although i've now managed to get a robin into the garden regularly, I've just got to get it used to the tripod being there now ![]() One of my whippets used to catch birds, used to jump up as they flew across the garden and eat them whole in one swallow, absolutely disgusting, but at least she didn't play with them like a cat. |
