Re: Fun Fair

Shots from Fare's can be really interesting especially at night. You have chosen a good position to take this shot from as there are strong lines pointing you up into the frame and then you work your way back down the image nicely with the tidy light streaks going from top to bottom.

Downsides.... Shame about the fella on the right (would a firm shove not have been inorder?)

Also, i know that it is night time and the majority of the lights that light the streets are orange and the tungsten filaments of other light sources give out a similar colour, but personally i am not a big fan. If you remove some of the orange colour cast you have in your chosen editing software i think the results will look much crisper and more appealling especially to me!

Re: Fun Fair

Gotta say, I love the effect, but it is completely spoilt by that huge bloke on the right. Looks like he'd block out the sunlight if he stood near you in the daytime too!

Love the light streaks though, perhaps you could take the dark areas right down to black and just keep the light streaks, would still be effective.

Cheers,
Rob

Re: Fun Fair

I was there on Saturday, very difficult to get a clear shot at the rides unless you were really close and then that's not always the shot you want.

I like the two people at the front, they help to give the ride some scale. And apart from the man it's a good composition.

Re: Fun Fair

LOL, I agree totally with Dan... the two down the front give scale... to the fat bloke in the corner. I know he's closer but he must have been big!

Just had a little pimp at this to see if we could get the great shot that is definitely there back - ie get rid of fat man. I just cloned left corner over right corner and tidied it up. I added a very small amount of sharpening as well to boost the swirls without increasing the saturation. It has given us a structure that is more symmetrical but still returned the wonderful swirls of light in different angles. See what you think anyway.

Cheers,
Rob
