Re: Garden Finches
Good set of shots here Fang. The last one isn't as bad as you think IMO. A quick fix that would just help it slightly is to open up the Hue/Sat tool (Ctrl+U in PS) and switch to the Cyan colour channel. Reduce the saturation od cyan right back as there is nothing in the shot that needs it. This will lose you the remnants of the fringing around the bird and the branch. In the Curves tool, just drop the white point down slightly (Click on the end of the line at top right (assuming that is the white end) and slide it down the side very slightly. This will just take the edge off its brightness. I think it then looks just fine.
I've done the above to it and although it isn't perhaps perfect I definitely think it's a keeper. See what you think. Good work on the set, I like it a lot, well done. Cheers, Rob

Re: Garden Finches
Thanks for yet another tutorial - much improved but have better of the greenfinch from other days. Included this to show variation on the feeders and the tree above them.
I will have a play tmorrow as it is past my bed-time! It is always good to see other's edits of your own pictures - like this an improvement and sometimes an approach that just gives a different view, always part of the sharing and learning from each other that makes using the Photography forums so worthwhile.
