Re: Glasgow at night
thanx all.. Geir, shot in manual, no flash, tripod, f8, 2.5s exposure, iso 400, 18mm with the standard 18 - 55mm canon kit lens. timer delay and a long wait to try to time it so there were no cars going across! lol
Hope this helps ![]() Fi |

Re: Glasgow at night
Thanks a million
. This really helped me a lot.Maybe I to can get something more than a dark (or very very burnt) shot. As a side question (if you don't mind), how did you select that exposure? Set it to AV and take a reading of the darkest and brightest spot, then select an average and bracket? (I'm just guessing here though as I usually shoot in bright daylight.) Thanks again Fi. |

Re: Glasgow at night
Geir, I set to manual and start off with something like a 1 second exposure take a shot and then work the exposure from there, obviously dependant on the lighting of what ever i am shooting and ambient light, the shutter speed will vary from one subject to the next, my xmas shot of edinburgh i think had a 5 second exposure, but i find ust by working my way up ( or down) from 1 sec i can find the right exposure.

Re: Glasgow at night
Very Nice Fi, that blue really jumps out at you. I think the 18-55 kit lens can be very underated, they do produce some good results.
