That is a cracking picture Very sharp. I also like the way you have controlled the background.

Perhaps the face could be a touch lighter but that may be my screen. ( Or next time move the sun round a bit ) I think also I would have cloned out the bit of branch in the bottom right corner.

Well done

A super image but I don't care for the yellow border.

Great image Fangman, very sharp and clear.

Goldfinches have yet to grace our garden despite my bribes of teasle heads filled with niger seeds stuck in the hedges! We do seem to have a high Greenfinch population though - not quite as striking...

Try sunflower hearts - cheaper than Niger seed and does not germinate all over the place.

If you saw the pair of finched I posted earlier you will see that I mix it with a little "wild bird food" in the feeder and this keeps them occupied for long periods as well as attracting the tits, green and chaffinches and even the occasional robin will try to get in on the act. Fortunately the doves can't get at it.

Re: Goldie framed for printing

I have never seen a chaffince or green finch on our feeder. Do not even see these in the garden .

We do get lots of long tail, coal, blue and great tits, with robbins and sparrows. Also the occasional woodpecker and nut hatch.

Unfortunately no nuthatches or coal tits our way - plenty of swans down the road at Welney!

Re: Goldie framed for printing

I love this one Fang. You have taken some cracking bird shots but this is right up there with the best. Personally I do like the border, the colour appears to have been sampled from the tail area and is sympathetic to a shot of a goldfinch.

I think I would just clone the bunrt out bit of branch just under the birds ar.... bottom

Lovely stuff,
Rob

Fangman lovely photo. sharp as it should be, with good colours and nice composition. and i like background - this green path goes with that bird shape exposing him more.

Re: Goldie framed for printing

Lovely picture. We have a family of 6 regularly visiting our bird feeder. They're such beautiful birds, but I can only view them from my kitchen window and my 58-200mm lens can't get close enough! I really appreciate your picture of my favourite birds.
