Re: the good lady wife..
I generally like hi-key shots, and I think you usually churn out really good stuff. This one presses all of the right buttons - except the lack of shadow on more of her nose.
The lack of this tiny detail has for me, made her face look unbalanced with too much of an empty area that seems to add distortion depending how you look at the picture. I like the detail in her hair and the eye contact is spot-on though. I think there is a better picture to be had with only a very small change to the lighting or processing.

Re: the good lady wife..
Agree with Graham - the right hand side of her nose is lost, and also the contouring of her left cheek. A bit *too* high key, maybe.

Re: the good lady wife..
I've just re-visited this shot at work, and on the monitor here the shadow detail on her nose is visible, along with a shadow on her left cheek and what a difference they make. The picture is hereby elevated to very good!
I think these details are still too feint though, so suggest you try a version with a bit more weight on them. Now, do I turn down the brightness on my monitor, or increase the contrast ![]() |

Re: the good lady wife..
Very, very nice Dave although I might crop it a bit.
Was this how it was captured or has it been done in PP? |

Re: the good lady wife..
Really like that. Agree about the shadow detail but to be honest with those eyes who cares!

Re: the good lady wife..
I'd like to see her hair softened, as it is dominating the image IMO, when the emphasis should be on the eyes - which look great BTW.
Nice work MD |
