Looking at this on my new Samsung SyncMaster 226BW, all 22" of it I agree with Jack, the grass is slightly oversaturated, but not by much. I like your later lo-sat version, but the original really isn't that bad. In fact, comparing them more closely, you've lost some of the sharpness of the horse + rider in the lo-sat version Can't you just select the grass to desaturate that a bit The 'generic' one has too much cyan or blue, making the colour look unnatural, so I wouldn't go with that one.All in all, I actually prefer the original

Re: Green Grass
No 3 on this antique P-E looks like the right shade.

Re: Green Grass
Thanks all for your input re the colour of grass
![]() I think I've settled for the Lo-Sat setting with the WB slightly tweaked (slightly cooler).......out of over a hundred shots I've picked out approx twenty to edit (all got grass in ).Good to hear about the new monitor Charlotte ![]() Cheers Ian. EDIT: Charlotte, the last 3 examples have had no sharpening applied and have been resized for here only ![]() Last edited by P-E : 24-07-2007 at 19:18. |

Compare the 2 versions (from your set of 3 pic's) + you'll see what I mean, the difference is subtle but noticeable. In the lo-sat version the lower saturation has resulted in a reduction in contrast. |

Re: Green Grass
I think by the time have applied curves and sharpened the Lo-Sat one it should look OK........failing that everything is going in B&W

Re: Green Grass
It does look fine P-E, I was just pointing out a minor observation, but honestly the lo-sat one looks good

Re: Green Grass
What, you love to hate it
Well, depending on how many images you have to re-do, it might be quicker to reinstall it than do a bunch of repetitive editing ![]() |

Re: Green Grass
I've not given up on it just yet Charlotte
.......I can do the global changes in Capture One ...but I think the WB does just need tweaking in some of the images I have to edit. |
