Re: Haworth
Thanks Ray, but there is no sharpening on these whatsoever.

Re: Haworth
It's a nicely framed shot, plenty of interest with an old world feel to it. The point is whether one likes the processing and I feel that it's that which you don't like.

Re: Haworth
I'm trying to figure these out. I don't dislike them, but they look like HDR or have had a lot of boost to shadow levels and saturation - see the church sign in #1 and the red door and the rainwater pipe in #3. The effect is almost like a painting rather than a photo.
What did you do? ![]() |

Re: Haworth
These are not over-sharpened but they have had some kind of artistic treatment done to them. It might be a Find Edges related filter, not sure. Having said that, I like the effect it has given them, they are very interesting John. But then, I adore Haworth having lived there so would never dislike shots from there LOL.
Want to tell us what treatment you gave this? It has given a very interesting look that I find quite appealling. Cheers, Rob |

Re: Haworth
I really like these and the Photoshop ? processing and would be very pleased if they were mine. But as others have said each to their own taste.
If I am going to be picky re No. 3 it is a shame about the sky reflections in the name board but I know that you do not have much choice about where to take that shot from. |

Everyone has their own idea of what makes a good photograph, it’s all down to personal preference. You’ve said what you think and I’m cool with that. Thanks to everyone else for the comments. Processing was LucisArt. I used that because as it was a grey, overcast day, I thought it would bring the colours out more. I accept that they might not be to everyone’s taste, but that’s life. ![]() |

Re: Haworth
I like them very much John
When I first discovered LA, many thought I was overdoing it, but I do like the effects it can produce. The degree to which you apply it can result in many variations on a theme. I've seen some good shots from this place that have had minimal processing. Your shots are just as valid for me, and do give a different perspective. I'd be well pleased with them. |
