Help Please with these skies
I took these 2 today with my 10-22 the tops of the skies look darker is it me, is it my equipment or was it just a bad day thank you ....Ray

None of those things! That's how a deep blue sky really looks, although you tend to notice it more in photos. The sky lightens towards the horizon, and some people go to a great deal of trouble with graduated overlay layers to fake the effect!
![]() P.S. A superwide lens will show the effect more, simply because there's more 'height' of sky in the shot. |

![]() A polariser may exaggerate the effect, and can look overdone, but yours is OK. |

Hey, I spend ages in Photoshop trying to get that graduation added
Do me a favour & convert that to Mono using channel mixers at 100% red ..... that sky will be a lovely dark black ![]() |
