Not too keen on the first one and im not sure why but the second one is great.

I like the second one. Not sure how or why..but the water seems so calm, yet so fierce.

You have the base for two very powerful & moody sky shots here, Ribby.
Try adjusting the levels on the sky to bring it out to its best. Also try to reflect the sky off the water to add a bit of colour to the bottom of the image. Example1 Example2 I like the way you've used the debris in the water for foreground detail. HTH Matt |

i love ribby's stuff, but i agree that Matts levels adjusting adds a certain something to the picture.

Using the rectangular marquee tool, I selected the sky.
Then I created a new adjustment layer and adjusted the levels. For the reflection in the water, I copied the image, flipped it vertically then added it to the first image as a layer. Then I adjusted the opacity to let the original water show through the new layer. This Tutorial covers most of above, but if you have more questions please ask. HTH |
