Incoming missile?
This gives an idea of how fast these finches travel.
Taken at iso 1600 f3.5 1/1000th at high speed mode on the 40D (theoretically 6fps) ![]() Frame 1 ![]() Frame 2 - worried starling ![]() It went that way! ![]() The starling though it would be safer at the side but the Goldfinch was not to be put off! ![]() Settling down to feed All full frame and no processing - just fit image to 800 pixels for uploading. The back end of a starling is on some fat balls in a nearby feeder. Sigma 2.8 70-200mm about seven or eight feet away from camera. Hunger overcame the sleet and rain this afternoon.
