Ingleton Waterfall

Took this at the weekend, lovely walk round Ingleton some great views. I didn't have my tripod (not keen on taking it 8 miles), will go back sometime and just go to the waterfalls with the tripod.

Lots of rain so lots of water and quite overcast so didn't need to use filters to keep the shutter speed slow.

cheers

Re: Ingleton Waterfall

Nicely comp'd and well held!

I guess it would've been good to widen slightly to get more bottom right and include full width, top left, but I'm guessing that it was the tripodless conditions (you want to get a Tamrac - then tripod goes everywhere! )

Re: Ingleton Waterfall

If I remember rightly the camera was resting on the lowest crossmember of a fence and I was practically lying in the mud. So composition options were limited.

Practically? Practically? What happened to suffering for our art? LOL!

I guessed it'd be something like that! Handy thing, fences!

Re: Ingleton Waterfall

Lovely shot.
The waterfalls at Ingleton are quite something and offer endless waterfall photographing opportunities! I've not visited the last few times I've been up that way, but will do next time.

I like this picture. Usually I see blue water running over rocks. I like the brown. It adds something.

Its a nice pic and strangely I'm opposite of dogdots and think enhancing the blues might work.

Hmm, but brown is the 'real' colour - all that peat on the water! Personally, I go with the lovely rich orangey browns!

Re: Ingleton Waterfall

Thanks for the comments.

The water was particularly brown that day as there's been so much rain recently it's washed more of the peat down. I don't think it would ever look blue, as it's in a narrow gorge with trees all around the top so I doubt there'd ever be much of a blue sky to reflect.

I shall certainly be going back, as soon as I can find a free weekend (not going to be before November though).

cheers

Dan
