Introducing Fabienne - Studio Shoot - Cheltenham Camera Club
Thought I would share some shots from my 1st ever studio shoot today.
With Hoffys expertise in lighting & Fabienne's incredible natural talent for modelling poses, all these shots are straight from the camera with only some cropping & border added . I wanted to show the shots "as is" to show how with the right support & guidance the kind of shots that re possible 4 light setup used. Camera Nikon D200 with 17-55mm f/2.8 lens. ![]() ![]() . . |

Re: Introducing Fabienne - Studio Shoot - Cheltenham Camera Club
Dave, spent the afternoon trying to repair my old monitor which is working again for now so did not have time to even download the shots from this morning.
I could see that you enjoyed that shoot. Both girls are excellent and it is certainly worth paying for professional models. You obviously aproved of the lighting as well. The main lighting provided by the softboxes at a 3 to 1 ratio seems to work very well for this type of subject. The background lighting was intended to be high key but Hoffy has promised us a low key set up next time. How many shots did you take this morning? I took 124 but I think that this is less than the last time I photographed Lisa and Fabienne. |

Re: Introducing Fabienne - Studio Shoot - Cheltenham Camera Club
I was about 160, which I have wittled down to about 60 ....... it was so hard to delete shots, as the models posed so well for each one .
The camera club surpassed itself with this style of offering ...... roll on next month Did Hoffy say we have the stunning Goth to shoot next time ?

Re: Introducing Fabienne - Studio Shoot - Cheltenham Camera Club
Nice shots Dave.
Can I give a little pointer though? I used to shoot fashion and beauty so do have experience in this field. The main thing is next time make sure someone has a tub of face powder available. The key to removing those horrible highlights on the face is to use face powder, you know the old fashioned stuff applied with a big fluffy powder puff. The models naturally sweat (there I've said it) and this results in those highlights on the face. The face powder produces a matt finish to the skin removing the problem. Using flash you don't usually see these highlights until too late. As has been said, professional models are worth their weight in cash. Once the lighting has been sorted out, the shots depend on the ability/experience of the model and the rapport between the model and photographer. The model in these photos looks relaxed and involved which helps to make the shots successful. You have achieved a good result for your first time. Cheers Les |
