Re: Its better on top
LOL Never thought I'd say this about pigs, but this pic is delightful, Paul
Excellent use of selective focus. WB looks a little off, but perhaps that's the effect you were after. A super image that made me smile

Re: Its better on top
Got a smile from this one. Agree that maybe the white balance should not be as warm, but a really funny, fun image.

Re: Its better on top
There was a warming lamp over the litter that is giving this "warm" light to the photo. I did cool it down a bit but the piglets were really quite pink and I tended to loose that the cooler I went.
I would appreciate any suggestions as to how I might accomplish cooling it down while preserving the pink piggies - I just can't figure out how. Thanks - Paul |

Re: Its better on top
If you shot in RAW, then changing the Kelvin is a slamdunk in ps2 ACR.

Re: Its better on top
Paul, I had a go, but after I uploaded I saw I'd over-done the cooling down, resulting in blue + magenta patches (over-corrected the warmth + the tint). A tricky one I admit, because of the apparent mixed lighting here. It can be corrected using WB adjustment, but needs fine-tuning, if you want to have a go

Re: Its better on top
Hi Paul.
Dropped down to selective color layer adjustment, dropped the yellow down, then the megenta adjusted so it looked more pink and then darked the blacks in that section. Have never seen a baby pig in real life, so it looks like they have white hair? [IMG] [/IMG]

Re: Its better on top
Boofers, that is sooooo weird 'cos that is the identical result I got
but I rejected it 'cos of the blue/magenta casts on the far pig's face + the nearest pig-leg.

Re: Its better on top
it looks like a by-product of the cyan I adjusted to bring in the white. didn't even see it, I was looking at the pig, or should I say I was capitvated by the little piggy.

Re: Its better on top
HaHa! This is great! Had a go myself - concluded that really you back to original and adjust the yellow cast towards red and then pull back on the red (if that makes sense!)
![]() Adjusted Levels, changed yellow hue to more red, burned BG, desaturated areas |
