Hope the lad is fit enough to lokk after himself and let you out to play soon. Again it looks good on b&w. On my doorstep so i must treat myself to some parking charges and do the tourist round with a photographer's eye and not just shopping! Lived with Cambridge as "big shops" for 30 yrs and still haven't visited all the Colleges and museums! I was usually working when visitors were taken round.

Boon has removed it, which kind of makes the whole thread pointless

Wow what a fantastic building, how old is it? It's a great shot boon. Nice conversion too but, I think I could do away with the tree as it just seems to be coming out of nowhere.

cheers,

Jewel

hi jewel
i know what you mean about the tree, but as i didnt have a chain saw with me, and i wanted to include some forground interest, i had to have it in.

I would have moved to the end of the wall and altered the framing slightly so that you had a very low position using the grass as foreground interest and the whole of the building in frame without the tree. The sky looks great to form the backdrop and the detail in the building coupled with that would have also made a great subject for your black and white treatment.

Unfortunately the college staff are a bit fussy about cutting trees and moving walls. If you mow your lawn regularly for about 500 years you get a finish like that! Worth a visit about 4pm to hear evensong sung by candlelight. Sorry the Kings Choir reading the music by candlelight!
