My monitor is calibrated using a Spyder2 and colour, contrast look just fine on this side.
( Sharpness is also fine but I don't think that has much to do with calibration. )That aside it's a damn fine shot. |

I've noticed a few shared pictures on here that looked too dark to me. This one looks just right - which is encouraging as I was beginning to wonder if my monitor was out.

Well it's encouraging to hear the picture is been viewed reasonably well.
As for Spyder2........I would like to give it another try sometime. |

i think a poloriser would finish it nicely, deepen the blue just enough

Probably just my eyes, but does anyone else think it slope's down to the left a tiny bit?
Excellent pic, lovely reflections |

The photo looks fine on my monitor as well, both for brightness and saturation.
With regard to the photo itself, it is a beautiful shot and the reflection in the still water adds a great symatry. Very nice indeed. It is sloping ever so slightly to the left but nowhere near as bad as it appears, I think the different angles of the banks and the bridge/dam wall are adding to the illusion slightly making it appear worse than it is.

Which as I've mentioned before you should take into account and correct so that it appears level.

Thanks for the feedback........most helpful.
Quick question to those that use Spyder2.........do you see any colour shift switching from a Spyder profile to sRGB? |

Are you using the Spyder profile ( monitor calibration profile ) as a colour space in photoshop ?
